CoralTech Ltd. Artificial Coral Solutions
In the past decade, technological advances have reduced the cost purchasing and maintaining marine aquariums, significantly increasing worldwide demand for wild coral. But at the same time, global warming, pollution and new environmental regulations have reduced natural coral supply.
CoralTech, Ltd. has developed the technology to close the growing gap between supply and demand in the global coral market by growing stony coral in an artificial environment. It is the only company currently on the market with the technology to grow coral in a closed system and the ability to export them worldwide. The artificially grown coral, from the Acroporidae family (Acropora, Montipora and Seriatopora genera), provide a substitute for wild coral that is superior to naturally grown strains.
More than 70% of wild coral die during the process of extraction from their natural environment, transportion and re-plantation in artificial conditions. CoralTech offers the solutions to this problem. Because CoralTech’s coral is grown in the same controlled environment in which it will be maintained by the purchaser, it nearly eliminates this risk, reducing the death rate to under 2%.
